Another form of bullying is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is relatively new phenomenon. It is the term that is used to describe bullying online. It happens mostly via social media. It generally consists of unpleasant comments and derogatory remarks posted publicly online.
Why do people bully?
There are many different reasons why people bully, including:
•Wanting to dominate others and improve their social status
• To feel that they are strong
• Feeling angry or frustrated
• Don’t trust people
• Being victim of bullying themselves
If you’re experiencing bullying, don’t let them bully you and fight for yourself. Sometimes being weak is not good because there are some people who will take advantage of your weakness. Having ways to cope with bullying is very important. These ways can make it easier to deal with the situation.
Here are our general tips on how to cope with bullying.
Tell someone else
Tell a trusted friend, parent, or teacher about your situation. Once you talk it with them you’re likely to feel more relaxed and calm about it.
Ignore it
Act like you didn’t hear what the person bullying you is saying. Don’t give them any reaction and the satisfaction of responding to their comments.
Tell the bully to stop
If you feel safe and confident, you can approach the bully and tell them why their behaviour is not okay.
Block and report it
If the bullying occurs online, don’t engage, as this can make things worse. Instead, block the person and report the situation. Social media sites have policies to prevent bullying and harassment. Make sure you saved the evidence and show it to a trusted adult.
Bullying is a big problem that the world is facing. Over 3.2 million people experience this problem and that needs to stop. Bullying can only stop if people voice their opinion about bullying, be nicer, set up a good home environment. Before you bully someone think about the effects of it.
If you see someone being bullied, protect and fight for them. NO ONE DESERVE THAT KIND OF TREATMENT IN THIS WORLD.
